Because he can do it and get away with it. Not that I agree with that, but the PGA Tour and all of it's sponsors need Tiger more than he needs them. That's a stone cold fact.
I played with a 17 year old this weekend that slammed his driver into the ground after every bad swing. I'm not saying that Tiger is to blame for that, but he's not exactly leading the way on proper etiquette. Discussing some of TIger's antics with my 7 year old is getting difficult.Why does Tiger Woods use language that would make the devil blush on the golf course?
Tiger is arguable the greatest player to ever tee it up. He's done more for golf than any other pro for decades. The other side of the coin is that golf has given him riches beyond even the ordinary mere mortals wildest dreams.
Tiger needs to understand that he's a huge influence on the game and bad conduct and language will receive far more attention (and imitation) than from other pros. He owes it to the game to conduct himself professionally at all times, even when things are going poorly.
tiger acts that way beacause hes tiger. thats what he does. hes an extremely focused and emotionally player and the actions he does(ex. cursing, throwing/slamming clubs, fist pumping, ect.) show that. its been said that he actually hypnotises himself before a round so that he focused on nothing but golf and the shot he is on. who knows, he might not even be aware that there are millions of people watching his every move on the golf course. thats why tiger acts that way on the golf course.

he plays with a lot of passion and emotion. the negative emotions come with cursing and slamming clubs. tiger is one of the highest fined players on tour for cursing on camera. this is probably also because they show him a lot more than anyone else so he will be caught on tv more, which makes the point that he is almost single-handedly the entire sport of golf. his emotion shows when he sinks a clutch putt with a big fist pump, the other side of that is cursing and slamming. all i can say is he's TIGER WOODS.
ashkii is right. I don't understand the second guessing of Tiger. Everyone freely admits he plays a different game than anyone else. Then why do people expect him to act like everyone else. Things are different for him. His thought process is different than us. So when he lets a bomb drop, we can, as mere mortals, never can understand what he feels. Logically. I don't like the attitude that much either, but me saying ';he shouldn't do that';, is like me saying Richard Petty shouldn't go so fast.
Because the amount of work he puts in, its frustrating to make mistakes like pushing a ball about 90 yards offline. There would be a problem if he was an average twenty handicapper, its like he told some celebrity douchebag who did that at a pro am, you're not good enough to get mad.
For the same reason he pumps his fists when he makes a dramatic putt. Because he plays with such strong emotion. But nobody berates him for the fist pumping...only the F-bombs.
Thats the gangsta part of him poppin out every now and then yo!
He was probably all pissed off like he was at the British Open... Ya know he duffed a pitching wedge there right? aha
