Could someone have social anxiety disorder if they get so nervous they start shaking and blushing when talking

to important people(and your mind goes blank too). They also have trouble raising their hand in class, but still do it. for example, you raise your hand, have an idea of what you want to say, but when you get called on you feel nervous and all of a sudden your voice is soft and shaky. It's the type of situation where you feel nervous(and look visibly nervous) at social gatherings, but you still go.Could someone have social anxiety disorder if they get so nervous they start shaking and blushing when talking
Yes, it could be a sign of social anxiety, but what type and how profound is something you'd have to have a professional diagnose.

It sounds like stage fright, which is more of a form of performance anxiety, because you said it is when attention is focused upon the person.Could someone have social anxiety disorder if they get so nervous they start shaking and blushing when talking
I have something like that. It only happens under certain situations. Public speaking, classroom, meetings...even the thought of it caused a severe reaction. Shaking, red face and neck, terror, fear. After years of torture I tried hypnosis and hypnotherapy. What a difference! It's not gone but is under control. BTW - I'm very social, not shy or insecure, make friends easy.
Maybe that person just has low self-confidence; get them to practice talking to random people and help them build there self-confidence; just remind them to be thereselve's and if people don't like them then not to bother with them.

Best regards.

Jake.
It is possible, but it could also be because you're so shy or something little.
